It describes the site as it works today; if anything changes (for example analytics or affiliate links), this page is updated before the change goes live.

What we handle, why, on what basis and for how long
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your email address and message, if you write to us | Answer you and correct the site | Our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and keeping information accurate (art. 6.1.f GDPR) | In our mailbox while the conversation is open and up to 12 months after, unless a law requires longer. The forwarding service keeps delivery records (sender, subject, alias, no message content) for 7 days |
| IP address and browser data sent with each request | Deliver the pages and keep the server secure | Our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (art. 6.1.f GDPR) | No access log is kept. The servers’ technical logs are limited in size (about 30 MB each) and overwritten automatically as new entries arrive |
We do not use analytics, advertising or social media trackers, we do not build profiles and we do not sell data.
Providers
- Hosting: a virtual private server operated by Hostinger, acting as processor (data centre: France (European Union)).
- Email: ImprovMX (email forwarding), which receives messages sent to hello@tenerifefinder.com and forwards them to the editor’s Gmail mailbox (Google), where they are kept. Both act as processors. ImprovMX stores incoming messages only until they are delivered (ImprovMX GDPR page, checked 29 October 2026).
Transfers outside the European Economic Area. The website itself is hosted in the EU. Email can leave it: ImprovMX receives mail in France but may deliver it through servers in the United States, under standard contractual clauses included in its data processing agreement, and Google may process mailbox data outside the EEA under the safeguards set out in its own privacy terms.
